6 thousand military personnel and 50 thousand civilians have sacrificed their lives in the Pakistan’s war against terrorism. Pakistan has faced losses of $ 130 billion; due to measures of COAS General Qamar Bajwa the losses have declined by 62 percent in the current fiscal year. Business community pay tribute to all martyrs and handicaps of armed forces and civilians.

President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF), President AKIA, Senior Vice Chairman of the Businessmen Panel of FPCCI and former provincial minister, Mian Zahid Hussain on Wednesday said that Pakistan has given significant sacrifices in the US imposed war on terror. In the last seventeen years, Pakistan has sacrificed 6 thousand military personnel and fifty thousand civilians. According to international reports, one lac families have been displaced comprised of over one million people as a result of this war.

The veteran business leader while talking to the business community said that financially Pakistan has faced losses of $ 130 billion, however, due to measures taken by the chief of Pakistan Army General Qamar Jawed Bajwa, these losses have been decreased significantly by 62 percent. Pakistan is at number 2 after Afghanistan, in the list of countries most affected in war against terrorism, given to sacrifices for peace in the World particularly in the region.

The former minister said that Armed forces have successfully curbed the internal and external threats to Pakistan through several operations including Al-Meezan, Rah-e-Haq, Sher Dil, Zalzala, Sirat-e-Mustaqeem, Rah-e-Raast, Rah-e-Nijat, Koh-e-Safaid, Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasad and have. Given to matchless sacrifices of the armed forces for which the entire nation owe them, Pakistan is growing and prospering in many aspects including foreign investment, tourism, trade and industrial activities.

Mian Zahid Hussain said that Pakistan’s armed forces are vigorously contributing in the UN peace keeping missions. Pakistan has so far contributed with 200,000 personnel in 45 different missions. Currently around 7 thousand personnel from Pakistan are participating in the ongoing UN peace keeping missions. Theses officers and soldiers of are actively serving for the cause of humanity in the areas affected by wars, national and other disasters and different regions of the World.

Mian Zahid Hussain said that 6 September is the day of renewing the faithful oath where the business community pay tributes to all martyrs and handicaps of armed forces and civilians and commits to make Pakistan an economically strengthen Islamic Country using its full potential.
