The positive initiative of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to revive dialogue with India by meeting his Indian counterpart in Russia at this critical juncture is highly significant move which has gone down very well with masses and business community, a business leader said Sunday.
Traders and Industrialists of Pakistan fully support incumbent government to boost confidence building measures as confrontation is to benefit no one in the region which is home of the majority of world’s poor, said President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF) and former provincial minister Mian Zahid Hussain.
Speaking to the business community, he said that Nawaz-Modi meeting will help deteriorating political, diplomatic and security situation between two neighboring countries.
He also lauded the gesture of Indian Prime Minister to accept invitation to visit Pakistan during Saarc summit next year which would be first visit of an Indian PM in last fifteen years.
Mian Zahid Hussain said that the statesmanship of Nawaz Sharif has not only settled increasing verbal attacks by either side which can result in improved cultural and business relations.
The business community fully support the announcement that Pakistan and India will discuss a range of bilateral issues, including security, people-to-people ties.
He said that Indian positive attitude towards issues like Kashmir, terrorism in Karachi and Balochistan, economic corridor etc. in the days to come can compel Pakistani policymakers to rethink granting MFN station to New Delhi.
Cordial relations will be beginning of peace which will lift billions out of poverty for which PM Nawaz Sharif deserves credit.
