President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF), President AKIA, Senior Vice Chairman of the Businessmen Panel of and former provincial of Mian Zahid Hussain on Friday said despite new beginning of terrorism in the Country, interim Government, Election Commission, Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and brave Pakistanis deserve congratulations on the well organized and rigging free general elections. All parties succeeded through this diplomatic process deserve congratulations and we hope that incoming Government of PTI will take measures to resolve the economic challenges faced by the Country on priority.
The veteran business leader while talking to the business community said that Pakistan is currently at worst economic condition, trade deficit has reached $ 38 billion, foreign reserves are at lowest level and inflation is on rise due to devaluation of PKR against USD. PTI chief and expected prime minister in his victory speech mentioned many of economic disaster and also announced measures to resolve them, including development of small and medium sector, establishment of business friendly environment, collective measures with business community for economic growth, better opportunities for foreign investment, bilateral and better relations with neighboring countries including China, India, Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and most importantly measures for the human development in Pakistan.
The former minister said that with successful election the political instability came to an end and the stock exchange has climbed to 42000 points after 3 months and inter bank USD rate get stabilized a bit. Circular debt of the Country has crossed Rs. 1000 billion which needs to be paid off instantly. The public sector enterprises including PIA, Steel Mill and energy sector are facing losses of more than Rs. 1.2 trillion and it is a big challenge for the incoming Government to restructure and turn them into profitable organizations.
Mian Zahid Hussain said that if Mr. Imran Khan kept his promises than there is now power that may stop Pakistan from becoming an economically strong Islamic Country in the World. We congratulate Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for winning in Karachi, Punjab and KP, Muslim League (N) for their victory in Punjab and Pakistan People’s Party for bagging majority in Sindh and hope that incoming federal and provincial Governments will work together for economic stability of the Country.
