Chairman of National Business Group Pakistan, President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, and All Karachi Industrial Alliance, and former provincial minister Mian Zahid Hussain said on Monday that the business community is pinning high hopes on the return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
His return will result in balanced politics, which will result in political stability that will help the people and the economy, he said.
Mian Zahid Hussain said that in spite of jail, exile, and other difficulties, the former prime minister did not try to incite the public in his speech, nor did he talk about any kind of revenge, which is a proof of his political insight.
Talking to the business community, the veteran business leader said that the former prime minister did not make any tall claims or vowed to jail the opponents, which shows that he does not want the politics of chaos in the country.
The people and the business community have breathed a sigh of relief after his speech because the country cannot afford any more protests and politics of conflict, he added.
Mian Zahid Hussain said that the former prime minister did not mention the armed forces and the judiciary despite complaints, which shows that he wants to forget the past and move forward.
The business leader added that overall, Nawaz Sharif’s address was serious, balanced, and thought-provoking, in which he made it clear that the politics of confrontation are pushing the country backwards.
He no longer believes in such negative struggles against important institutions, which is harmful and must be avoided, he said, adding that he will now fight against poverty, inflation, insecurity, and injustice instead of politicians, bureaucracy, and institutions.
Mian Zahid Hussain said that the political forces that are destroying Pakistan by claiming to make it a paradise should not poison the political atmosphere for their own interests and should not misguide the people because their past performance is not a secret.
Mian Nawaz Sharif is aware of his political and economic mistakes, and he is determined to get the country out of its current problems. If he moves in the right direction and announces a viable economic program, he will have the full support of the public, the business community, and all major institutions.
All the stakeholders have realized that saving the country and reviving the economy are top priorities without which we have no future.
