President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF), President AKIA, Senior Vice Chairman of the Businessmen Panel of FPCCI and former provincial minister, Mian Zahid Hussain on Monday said in first speech after becoming prime minister, Imran Khan gave hope to the Nation and a viable roadmap to “Naya-Pakistan”. Human development, Education, Health, growth of SME sector, reducing cost of doing business, Tourism development, increased exports, one window operation in prime minister secretariat for foreign investment, FBR and other institutions reform, progressive taxation, development of poor and lower middle class, courts and judiciary reforms, prosperity, cleanliness transport and other issues of Karachi and many other promises; business community welcome and appreciate all measures to be taken by the Government towards Nation’s and Country’s development. Federal and Sindh government should together work to make the dream of Naya Pakistan comes true.
The veteran business leader said that development of FATA and Baluchistan is vital for prosperity of Pakistan. Continuous and instant efforts need to be started for this purpose. In current economic scenario of the Country where foreign debts have raised to $ 95 billion, foreign exchange has declined to as low as just $ 16 billion and trade deficit been widened by $ 38 billion. Overseas Pakistanis should now send more remittances through legal channels as requested by Imran Khan, so that the economic crisis may be curbed.
The former minister said that going for 13th program of IMF will cause adverse affects to all sectors including Country’s sovereignty; therefore, it should not be a preferred option and should only be used if there is no option left.
Mian Zahid Hussain said that Sindh government should take benefit of Bilawal’s young leadership and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah experience and political capabilities in resolving the issues of Sindh particularly Karachi, and immediate measures to be taken for development of economic capital of the Country. Entire country may be benefited through the prosperity of Karachi. Clean water, infrastructure, cleanliness, street crimes, environmental pollution are currently the major issues, Karachi faces. Sindh government should go for resolving these problems on priority and should take immediate measures to provide basic needs to the less privileged people of Thar and other areas of interior Sindh.
